after a year of recovery, we went to a great fellow airstream enthusiasts' birthday in Alabama, towing our 66 with a new to us 2013 f150.The driving and towing went well, even with my one good hand.Setting up the camper was enticing in our lake front site, but more work than I could handle.Of course my awesome wife did as much as she could with some direction. But then post party we had to undo all the setting. We discussed ending our 18 year Airstream love affair, and on getting home I listed the trailer and all equipment on Air classifieds.
Amazingly an old friend who has has a number of vintage campers called the next morning. He asked if it was really my trailer for sale. I told him yes, unfortunately, and what was going on. He said after a four year break , they were ready to start camoing again, and this would be the perfect camper, as it had a bunk bed for their grandchild.
we agreed to a deal, and in one day the Airstream was sold and gone.I enjoyed bringing this one back to useful life after many years on non use sitting in a field.   Now it will continue to be well enjoyed and continue its function, a good day for all.
Later note, the new owner suffered a heart attack and had ,like me , to pass it onto a friend.
Hopefully it is still being cared for and enjoyed.

Struck by Stroke......no joke

ihad a stroke aug 28, 2017;which has left me recovering the past27 months, learning to walk again and a lot more. Its been tough a lot harder emtionally than physically.Thenwith Spring  camping on our agenda, we opened up the trailer which has been closed for 6 months.  kinda musty and dusty but she came back to life with some effort. We will get her on the road in April..can't wait to b camping on a lake in the old girl but after a trial weekend we could not do all that a trailer demands.
I am considerably better but still have only one true working arm and hand , and left leg is  not fully functioning.

So we agreed to sell the Airstream and not replace it. though  in truth I am missing camping and rallying. Been perusing ads and would like to have a VW rialta. Less demanding for us and maybe just the ticket as I has a VW van bus camper years ago.

Hopefully will find on that is affordable and usable. That  Is the challenge
Happy fall you all!
